Your Responsibilities
We are pleased to be recruiting for an opportunity to join Lockton Re in a newly-created role - working with the global Lockton Re Cyber Centre to lead Lockton Re’s approach to modelling cyber catastrophe risk.
With responsibility for leading research and development, engaging with the vendor models, data and analytics ecosystem, and providing market leadership, this is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing business at a key stage of our journey. The role will be critical to building out a dedicated team of experts to develop Lockton Re’s view of risk, challenge conventional thinking and influence the direction of the market.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate the Lockton Re internal view of cyber risk, taking into account insights derived from external models, research findings, and industry-specific considerations
- Conduct comprehensive review, testing, validation and challenge of external cyber risk models, using a collaborative approach in conjunction with members of the Lockton Cyber Centre
- Build relationships with external model vendors, serving as a key liaison to advise on model development, customization, and enhancement based on different use cases
- Assess the effectiveness and applicability of existing external models to insurance risk scenarios, proposing adjustments or alternative models as required
- Prepare and present reports, presentations, and documentation to effectively communicate research findings, model evaluations, and internal risk perspectives to internal and external stakeholders
- Present to clients the outputs of our developments, in order to improve their understanding of cyber catastrophe issues
- Deliver thought leadership, through papers and market interaction to articulate our approach to some of the hardest analytics challenges in the insurance industry
Qualifications
- Strong background in cyber risk modelling, and various cyber risk modelling techniques, methodologies, and industry-standard models, specifically tailored to insurance risk profiles
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess and validate models.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex concepts and findings to diverse audiences
- Ability to develop and articulate an internal view of cyber risk based on research, analysis, and model evaluations, specifically tailored to insurance risk management
- Proactive and self-driven approach to research, staying updated on the latest developments in the insurance and cyber risk modelling fields
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Computer Science, or a related discipline
