Your Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
To work with the COO and assigned offices to ensure that operational objectives are exceeded, and Lockton principles are followed. Responsible for developing, introducing and monitoring quality systems (as identified) in order to achieve recognised company standards. The role will ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations across the divisions existing operations.
- Follows the direction set by the COO and local Executive Committees. May participate in developing policy and strategic plans.
- Provides support to the COO in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Provides support to the COO in preparing management information packs.
- Provides support to the COO in the interview process for key Lockton associates.
- Drives forward the monitoring and penetration of non-production revenue (ISB, WTA’s, and Close etc) with appropriate associates.
- Works on special corporate projects, as assigned.
- Ensures that necessary policies and standards for service quality are set and maintained and that compliance is assured.
- Investigates quality problems and recommends changes or improvements.
- Facilitates the introduction across the office of new processes or improvements to existing processes.
- Monitors compliance of Lockton procedures by implementing a consistent and robust file audit system throughout all offices, identifying specific areas of concern and ensuring that corrective action is taken. Escalating major issues and/or highlighting where trends exist to the COO and Executive Committees.
- Undertakes ad hoc file audits in support of the above and undertake specific file audits as requested.
- Completes the Job Competencies framework.
- Supports in introducing a rigorous appraisal system including a consistent approach on goal setting and scoring, and ensuring training needs are identified and delivered.
- Assists Unit Managers in formulating the direction and structure of operating units to ensure attainment of the business plan in respect of profit and growth.
- Assists Unit Managers in evaluating systems, analysing data, evaluating processes and establishing best practices that are both effective and efficient.
- Introduces a programme of technical audits.
- Ability to identify opportunities for working practices improvement.
- Ensures that all activities undertaken are compliant with regulation and internal standards and procedures.
Qualifications
- Ability to assist COO and other Associates with the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures to ensure the performance of Associates necessary for excellence in client service delivery.
- Relevant operating experience working in a risk and compliance environment.
- An understanding of regulatory controls and procedures relating to both commercial and retail customers.
- A thorough understanding of and adherence to Lockton standards and procedures.
- Willingness to adhere to the Lockton Philosophies.
- Conscientious with a keen attention to detail.
- Proven ability to be flexible and adaptable in an ever-changing environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with clients, insurers and other associates.
- An understanding of the relevant classes of business and the broking process.
- Ability to build and maintain good business relationships with clients, insurers and associates.
- Knowledge of the resources available within Lockton and how to source such services.
- Willingness and ability to continue to develop knowledge of products and related issues through formal and informal learning, both internal and external to the company.
- A thorough knowledge of the computer desktop software provided by Lockton.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software applications.
- Ability to manage time, prioritise and ensure that deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Excellent presentation skills in both preparation and execution.
- Ability to compile, analyse and interpret financial information and data to facilitate decision making.
- Proven problem-solving skills, including the ability to resolve unusual and complex issues and devise actionable solutions.
- A good understanding of the general, Legal principles of insurance.
- Working knowledge of risk management concepts and risk financing.
- An understanding of Lockton cash collection processes including but not limited to general insurance accounting and client invoicing.
- Demonstrated understanding of management concepts, systems and quality assurance.
- Professional and tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.
- Protects the confidentiality of information learned by performing position duties.
