Your Responsibilities
We have a unique market role for those with proven abilities to assess situations quickly, apply new or established protocols, think strategically, and reach consensus across different organizations and teams. We are looking for an experienced consultative medical underwriter to join our rapidly growing consulting underwriting team which is dedicated to promoting continued evaluation of and support for our Stop Loss Carrier Partner relationships. **This position can be remote!**
Job Duties:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Stop Loss Carrier Partners.
- Work closely with Lockton Complex Claim Specialty Practice and Carrier Partners to develop new and differentiated solutions such as block renewal strategies, group purchasing programs and other alternative risk products to drive value for both Carrier Partnerships and Lockton Clients.
- Provide consistent, enhanced, and strategic renewal underwriting feedback to Carrier Partners within actionable timeframes.
- Identify trends and develop recommendations to assist Carrier Partners with respond to market pressures.
- Review specific case escalations from carriers and facilitate further review with Lockton Complex Claim Specialty Practice as necessary.
- Develop and provide case-level risk profiling using internal Lockton tools and external Carrier designated tools.
- Ensure agreed upon terms and conditions with Carrier Partners are enforced.
- Monitor partnership between Lockton Complex Claim Specialty Practice and Carrier Partners to provide clear, concise, and timely feedback to Carrier Partners.
- Work with Carrier Partners to evolve best practices and actively participate in assisting Carrier and Lockton to develop more efficient processes.
- Identify marketing cycle post-mortem improvement opportunities for Carrier Partners.
- Other responsibilities as required.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field or equivalent education and experience.
- 5+ years insurance underwriting/healthcare rating or consulting specifically for stop loss insurance.
- Financial analysis experience in a healthcare brokerage environment or insurance carrier.
- Proven experience putting together group purchasing, captive and/or renewal strategies is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-based environment.
- Experience manipulating and analyzing large data sets.
- Basic familiarity with data visualization programs such as Power BI is preferred.
- Current required licenses or ability to immediately obtain.
- Must be available for travel and willing to accept responsibility for client/vendor entertainment.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
