Your Responsibilities
Our Construction Projects Team within our Northeast Construction Practice is growing and we’re looking for a Client Manager / Sr. Client Manager (depending on experience) with 5-10 years of relevant insurance industry experience. The role can be located in any of our offices which span from Washington DC through New England with a preference to either our Boston, MA or Hartford, CT offices.
The Client Manager / Sr. Client Manager will be responsible for working with the Projects Team Leader and Producers in servicing and managing a growing Subcontractor Default Insurance book of business within the Construction Project Insurance team. In addition to assuming responsibility for these clients, this high-performing associate will provide great customer service and be an integral part of the broader brokerage client service team. Direct interaction, client engagement and relationship building within the construction industry and insurance marketplace are key components for this position. This associate will be a part of Lockton’s Career Advancement Program which is designed to provide the technical and practical training needed to develop the Client Managers as they look forward to a successful and long-term career within the Lockton Northeast Series.

- An entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to continually expand knowledge of the construction industry and all associated insurance lines and grow within the company
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee servicing of a dedicated Subcontractor Default Insurance book of business which includes:
- Consulting with clients and prospects around subcontractor default risk management principles, processes, and procedures.
- Marketing, negotiation and placement of Subcontractor Default Insurance policies.
- Program administration including processing project enrollments, reviewing quarterly reporting documents and monitoring available program capacity.
- Advise clients on any SDI claims that arise and work with carrier to bring to resolution.
- Provide subcontractor default risk training to clients as required.
- Develop and maintain favorable internal and external relationships with the end goal of providing the highest level of customer service by meeting or exceeding industry standards
- Reviewing program details (quotes, binders, and endorsements) with Client and Insurer to ensure accuracy and completeness; gather and compile exposure information for new business and existing (renewal) opportunities
- Work with Technical Services Team to issue and process certificates of insurance, invoices and compliance related documents
- Research and understand Construction Liability industry market, carrier relations and trends (claims)
- Resolves accounting issues when needed
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management and insurance is preferred, or a business-related program and/or experience is required
- 5-10 years of Subcontractor Default Risk Management experience in the construction industry or in construction insurance (broker or underwriting) is preferred
- Ability to efficiently organize work and manage time to meet deadlines
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, inclusive of knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Willingness and ability to work outside of normal business hours and travel as needed
- Legally able to work in the United States and ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
