Your Responsibilities
This national position is a crucial role in supporting the Product Recall and Accidental Contamination Risk Practice Consulting Leader, Lockton’s producers, associates and clients evaluate their unique exposures for product recall and accidental contamination. This includes partnering with our local office teams, our Lockton London Product Recall and Accidental Contamination group and our Food & Beverage Practice; to identify adverse exposure trends, create world-class insurance program design recommendations, and implement unique risk management tools for clients facing this exposure. This individual also collaborates with the local teams in the placement and servicing of insurance coverage and risk control resources.
This candidate will also assist in driving revenue for Lockton, increase expertise for the product recall product with our local offices, and foster strong relationships with our carrier partners. Additionally, this candidate will drive brand awareness through thought leadership, analytics, white papers, and critical conferences to aid in Lockton’s commitment to the product.
A successful candidate will have:
- An eagerness and enthusiasm to be an integral part of the local office teams and the broader Product Recall and Accidental Contamination and Food & Beverage Practices.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively and professionally to all levels.
- An ability to manage a complex and demanding prospect and client portfolio. Candidate must excel at multi-tasking, adapting to change and working on tight deadlines to meet our internal and external customer needs.
- An ability to manage time, prioritize and ensure that realistic deadlines are communicated and met without compromising quality.
- A detailed understanding of the product recall and accident contamination insurance marketplace including an ability to develop and coordinate on agreed Client marketing/ placement strategies with the local service team.
- Well developed, respected senior-level insurer relationships in the area of product recall and accident contamination.
- The desire to mentor and develop local Associates and Producers to increase the overall expertise for Lockton in this coverage area.
Core Responsibilities:
- Be a part of Lockton’s National Product Recall and Accidental Contamination Consulting Practice team, by identifying and developing key client strategies across all of Lockton’s local offices. This includes a strong collaboration with our Lockton London Product Recall team.
- Maintains strong relationships with key clients and works with Producer (where applicable) to perform senior-level Client communications.
- Offers expert coverage and risk management to local office teams, Prospects and Clients.
- Works closely with the local office teams to plan and assist in developing annual renewal strategies.
- Listens to local office and client concerns, provides meaningful advice, and identifies potential solutions.
- Leverages and increase our analytics capabilities within the Product Recall area, to develop risk strategies, support renewal negotiations and help Clients make informed decisions.
- Broad knowledge of Client’s business, industry, and risks, including financial, operational, and strategic goals/planning.
- Deep understanding of Clients’ entire insurance and risk management programs.
- Uses understanding of Client’s business and financial profile to help Clients and the Lockton team build long-term risk strategies.
- Stays abreast of industry trends and changes in governmental regulations in areas related to Product Recall and Accidental Contamination.
- Builds and maintains senior level carrier relationships, including developing new markets, necessary to drive outcomes or solve problems
- Works with Producers to develop strategy, identify / align internal resources and support new business opportunities.
- Mentors and develops all Associates in the area of Product Recall and Accidental Contamination.
- Assist in Product Recall and Accidental Contamination claims.
- Draft manuscript language as needed
- Performs other responsibilities and duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related program preferred or equivalent education and/or experience required.
- A minimum of five years of Product Recall and Accidental Contamination insurance experience and/or insurance broking/consulting experience required and/or food safety experience
- Understanding of insurance/risk management concepts and their application to Clients’ needs.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial information to facilitate decision making and develop an understanding of the financial condition of Clients and prospects.
- A true collaborator with all internal groups within Lockton for the benefit of our local office teams and our clients. Must have exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to instill confidence in Clients and Associates at all levels of responsibility.
- Must have the ability to provide valuable thought leadership to our local service teams.
- The unique ability to utilize well balanced time management skills.
- Maintains and grows a network of key insurer relationships.
- Superior negotiation skills.
- Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information.
- Willingness and ability to work outside of normal business hours and travel as needed.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Licensed broker in their state of residency or state of employment.
- Legally able to work in the United States.
- Open to remote locations.
