Your Responsibilities
Lead and support Data Platforms(Lockton Cloud) and Analytics tools Infrastructure Reliability
Combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed services and infrastructures
Ensure the data, services and infrastructures are reliable, fault-tolerant, efficiently scalable and cost-effective
Primarily supports Lockton's Analytics Sites(Tableau, PowerBI, Alation) and expands on to overall Lockton Data Platforms between Cloud and OnPrem
Run the CI/CD infrastructure production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
Manage the services and tools that provide the foundation for an intuitive and engaging developer experience to increase productivity and product quality
Operationalize enterprise grade cloud computing services and tools that are secure, fast, scalable, highly available and reliable
Guide in architecting solutions for highly reliable, available, scalable and secure infrastructure systems
Manage day to day issues including daily health checks of applications and processes, working closely with end users, development staff and Infrastructure teams, to prioritize and resolve and/or mitigate outages
Ensures information controls, back-up and recovery strategies are in place across all environments
Implement continuous process improvement, including but not limited to policy, procedures, and production monitoring
Help in identifying, coordinating, and implementing initiatives/projects and activities that create efficiencies and optimize technical processing
Develop and maintain relationships with technical staff, end users and clients
The Successful Applicant
Technical Knowledge, Key skills and experience required for the successful candidate:
Assist with the administration and maintenance of Analytics tools(Tableau/PowerBI) Infrastructure, user management, access controls, and security
Support the implementation of Tableau Server best practices and ensure compliance with data governance policies
Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize Tableau Server configurations for optimal efficiency and reliability
Assist in managing user permissions and access levels, ensuring appropriate access to reports, dashboards, and data sources
Contribute to documentation and knowledge-sharing efforts related to Tableau Server administration processes and procedures
Stay updated with the latest Tableau Server features, functionalities, and industry trends, and make recommendations for process improvements
Provide technical support and assistance to Tableau Server users, troubleshooting issues and resolving user inquiries
Plan, manage, and oversee all aspects of a Production Environment for Data Platforms
Define strategies for Application Performance Monitoring, Unit Cost and Chaos Engineering aspects
Ability to understand MTTR, SLO, SLA, SLI definitions and apply them to services
Respond to Incidents and improvise platform based on feedback and measure the reduction of incidents over time
Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health
Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
Build, monitor, troubleshoot complex data infrastructure at scale
- Support the continuous development and deployment of multi service analytics applications
- Develop tools and processes to automate the management of our systems and data
Collaborate with vendors on feature requests to enhance platform value
Qualifications
7+ years Infrastrcuture administration and System Engineering experience
At least 4 years experience with Tableau, PowerBI or releveant tool administration
Supporting server installations/configuration in Windows, Unix and Linux environments
Scripting languages and concepts to automate manual processes
Writing business requirements, technical analysis and design, coding, testing, and implementations of customizations within the Tableau environment
Configure Tableau server security as required (Single sign-on (SSO), Kerberos, Active Directory (AD), SAML, SSL, B2C)
Proficiency in troubleshooting Tableau Server issues, performance optimization, and backup and recovery procedures
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Experience/Knowledge in hybrid (Cloud Azure/AWS/GCP and on prem) environment topologies
Comprehensive expertise administering and developing with BI Tools like Power BI
Administration of Data Governance Tools like Alation etc.,
Experience with automated CI/CD software and Github integration
Basic knowledge of databases and SQL queries
Graduate(Bachelor's) degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related
Tableau Server Certified Associate or similar certification is a plus.
Strong exposure to Databases and data structures of cloud-based technologies
