Position Overview
The Senior Management Liability Broker is at the forefront of our Lockton Northeast Private Equity strategy. The Senior Management Liability Broker handles all aspects of Private Equity engagement at the portfolio company level, including diligence, placement and advisory functions. The Management Liability Broker will serve as the primary contact for the portfolio company client, private equity sponsor, and the insurance markets.
This person will be directly responsible for leading complex portfolio company management liability placements and will be tasked with staying current on market appetite. A high performing and successful Senior Management Liability Broker will be a strategic leader, intellectually curious, deliver transactional excellence, and provide great customer service.
Core Responsibilities:
· The Senior Management Liability Broker will serve as a key leader on the Lockton Northeast LFS team, establish strategy, and liaise with the markets while developing a placement strategy delivery for all assigned and new business, to include:
o Portfolio Company Programs
o Singular portfolio company management liability placements
o Platform/add-on due diligence and pricing
· Build, expand, and solidify relationships with existing private equity firms and their portfolio companies at all levels within the company
· Offer expert coverage and risk management advice to assigned Clients and any new business
o Understand the Client’s overall business, operations, risk management needs to provide strategic advice and day to day support; aligns developed risk strategies with our clients financial, operational and strategic goals & objectives
o Cultivate relationships with the most senior leaders in Client organization as well as with day-to-day Client representatives and buyers; listen to Client concerns, provide meaningful advice, and develop potential solutions
o Plan and develop Client annual renewal strategy
o Initiate and lead renewal efforts, including market negotiations; maintains overall responsibility for all aspects of the renewal process and day-to-day service
o Leverages analytics to develop risk strategies, support renewal negotiations and help Clients make informed decisions
· Collaborates with Client Executives to ensure and optimize overall service delivery to Clients
· Ensure full alignment between the Client’s business objectives and strategy and the technical expertise brought by the Lockton account team.
· Work closely with Producers to develop and implement strategies to support new business opportunities
· Responsible for best-in-class client deliverables aligned with Lockton and the Northeast region
· Follow industry trends and changes in governmental regulations that may impact the industries
· Stay current on carrier appetites across all management liability products
· Build and maintain carrier relationships, including developing new markets necessary to drive outcomes or solve problems
· Perform other responsibilities and duties as needed
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in a business-related program preferred or equivalent education and/or experience required
· A minimum of 5 years of management liability insurance experience and/or insurance broking/consulting experience required
· Understanding of insurance/risk management concepts and their application to Clients' needs
· Ability to analyze and interpret financial information to facilitate decision making and develop an understanding of the financial condition of Clients and prospects
· Must have exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to instill confidence in Clients and Associates at all levels of responsibility
· Maintains a network of key insurer relationships
· Superior negotiation skills
· Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
· Willingness and ability to work outside of normal business hours and travel as needed
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
· Legally able to work in the United States
