Your Responsibilities
SUMMARY:
The person in this position will be the primary service contact for the assigned book of business with group benefits accounts and develop a strong working relationship with both the clients and carriers. This position offers a flexible work environment and growth opportunities to increase earnings through client retention and new business acquisition efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for implementing new client launches including carrier involvement, employee correspondence, implementing and adhering to a project timeline, and coordination with vendor partners.
- Responsible for routine service, which includes the development and execution of service schedule, participation reporting (if relevant), and coordinating initiatives with the client and carriers.
- Meets with clients on a regular basis to develop relationship and consult with client on benefits strategies.
- Conducts all marketing efforts to seek the best medical and ancillary options for clients.
- Responsible for explaining new benefit offerings and communication strategies to existing clients.
- Develops prospective client proposals for both existing clients and prospective clients.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a business related field and/or equivalent experience in the insurance industry.
- Preferred experience of 2-7 years in the insurance industry, specifically in the employee benefits area is required.
- Required Life & Health insurance licenses or ability to obtain immediately.
- Minimum 2 years Account Management experience required.
- Demonstrated professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) or similar software applications.
- Demonstrated presentation skills including preparation and execution.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to develop sound relationships with multiple clients.
- Ability to interact with vendors effectively.
- Good working knowledge of benefits strategy and plan designs.
