Your Responsibilities
Lockton Affinity, in Overland Park KS is searching for a Commercial Risk Advisor. The Commercial Risk Advisor position is designed for a dynamic, high-energy B2B sales professional. In this role, you will be responsible for prospecting and building relationships with new clients within a defined territory. You will meet with clients in person to negotiate complex insurance coverages and rates, presenting and explaining customized quotes that meet their specific needs. This position requires an individual with strong sales and communication skills, deep industry knowledge, and a focus on delivering exceptional client service. You will play a key role in expanding our market presence through direct, face-to-face engagement with prospective clients.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for researching and identifying individual prospective opportunities and lead communication initiatives.
- Understand the overall business, operations and needs of the client.
- Create and develop client and prospective client communications.
- Responsible for negotiating complex coverages and rates, presenting, and explaining quotes on existing and new business within their assigned program territory.
- Ability to explain and educate clients on complex coverage options.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships clients and prospective clients.
- Provides excellent customer service by servicing a book of business and recommends potential enhancements and improvements to processes, products and/or policies.
- Responsible for renewing, servicing, and retaining client business by selecting new markets for submission and requesting quotes.
- Ability to travel by aircraft, automobile, etc. and stay overnight for client meetings, conventions, and other business-related events.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4-5 years of Commercial P&C Experience.
- At least three years B2B sales experience preferably in a complex transaction environment.
- Strong presentation skills including preparation and execution.
- Personal presence to interface with top management of other businesses, representing Lockton Affinity in the highest professional manner.
- Possesses a current P&C License.
- Full working knowledge of commercial property/casualty coverages and services.
- Demonstrated professionalism, tactful negotiation, and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including research and investigation and to provide solutions to standard and non-standard issues.
- Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret financial information and data to facilitate decision making.
- Ability to communicate professionally both written and verbal, with internal and external clients and to develop strong client relationships.
- Power user with internet research to include knowledge of LinkedIn and other social media for the purposes of professional networking.
