POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Business Development Associate provides administrative and analytical support to the Series (Producer) and Business Development Consultant within the agency. The Associate will focus on project management, budget forecasting, and client prospecting in an effort to grow Lockton revenue, while acting with general direction from the Producer/Consultant team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Composes and prepares a variety of correspondence, reports, and internal documents in support of producer new business development activities.
- Conducts research on prospective companies and assists with data requests. Utilizes LinkedIn, Hoovers, Nexis, and other tools to provide company background information, identify key contacts, and prepare executive prospect summaries.
- Independently coordinates the production of responses to requests for proposals (RFP’s) using internal and external resources. Coordinates meetings throughout RFP process, including gathering answers to assigned questions, and coordinating development and delivery of final RFP to Prospect.
- Assists Producer/Consultant team with developing annual budget and quarterly forecasts. Assists with variance reporting.
- Receives, reads and is proactive in handling daily email as directed by Producer/Consultant team, and initiates action on items requiring immediate attention by Producer and/or Consultant.
- Actively manages CRM (Salesforce) or related systems for Producer/Consultant team.
- Manages client expiration dates. Identifies key pre-renewal meetings that Producer and /or Consultant need attend.
- Makes travel arrangements and various business appointments for assigned Producer/Consultant team.
- Keeps calendar of appointments for Producer/Consultant team as requested. Proactively helps the team manage preparations for upcoming meetings.
- Process expense reports using knowledge of client/prospect activity and ensure timely reimbursement to the Producer/Consultant team.
- Protects the confidentiality of information learned by performing the duties of the position.
- Develops proxy status with account teams and clients by demonstrated accountability.
- Assists with the onboarding of new clients.
- May attend client/prospect meetings or social events with Producer/Consultant team to assist as requested.
Formación
- Bachelor degrees in Finance will be given priority consideration, as well as degrees in Business Administration, Accounting, or other related analytical Business fields.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience performing executive-level sales support, business development support, or similar administrative experience in a corporate environment.
- Ability to perform simultaneous multiple tasks with ability to respond and refocus quickly.
- Ability to learn new business concepts quickly and apply what is learned to complex scenarios.
- Assertive personal presence communicating with clients, associates and other individuals, in both one-on-one and group situations, representing Lockton in the highest professional manner.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Advanced skills with email and calendar systems such as Outlook.
- Experience with internet, including knowledge of LinkedIn and other social media for the purposes of professional networking.
- Experience using a CRM system such as Salesforce (preferred.)
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines.
- Organizational and time management skills to prioritize busy workload to meet time sensitive deadlines.
- Strong verbal communication, written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Firm, fluent grasp of the English language with high level verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal skills to interact with associates at all levels of responsibility.
- Ability to make decisions in compliance with established company standards of quality performance and service.
- Strong value of service to others.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
