Your Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to provide service delivery to clients across the International People Solutions practice. Responsible for leading our larger, complex, SME international benefits accounts, and working closely with our sales team on the onboarding of new clients and prospects.

 

Key tasks and duties are summarised below and are largely around becoming a rounded consultant with a focus on effectively delivering to clients, managing workload effectively and developing yourself and other members of the team to add value – including making connections across the business and accessing resources to solve problems.

 

CLIENT FOCUS/MANAGEMENT


• Lead Lockton’s larger, more complex SME accounts including the preparation of client deliverables and materials across the range of international benefit propositions and services.
• Work closely with our sales team on the onboarding of new clients
• Understand the “why” (the reason) for the work being needed and delivered to a client.
• Work with client team members in directing, addressing, and resolving client queries issues about global benefit issues.


CLIENT DELIVERY


• Monitor the tracking of renewals, production of renewal reports, maintaining client files, populating, and maintaining activity/issues trackers.
• Own and coordinate membership changes, queries, and the tracking of invoices for clients.
• Produce drafts of meeting agendas and meeting minutes/actions.
• Responsible for a portfolio of SME clients, acting as the lead consultant managing all client activity.
• Support client-facing technology tools by adding new users and providing basic troubleshooting.
• Understand the client engagement and manage any budgets/other metrics through effective project tracking.
• Ensure adherence with any Lockton processes to ensure compliance and risk management of delivery e.g. data protection process, maintaining audit trails.


MAKING EFFECTIVE CONNECTIONS


• Develop networks with the Lockton Global Partner offices, peers, and other business service groups (IT, Office Services, Information Processing, Accounting, local offices, etc.) to progress various tasks using a partnership approach that facilitates high-quality results and process workflow.
• Form relationships with key international carriers to build knowledge and understanding of each proposition.
• Proactively work with the Broking Desk to ensure client renewals are managed effectively and delivered on time.


NEW BUSINESS


• Support with new business opportunities including RFP responses.
• Ownership for pricing and scoping of small-medium sized projects
• Upselling and cross-selling relevant lines of business where appropriate


MANAGING SELF & DEVELOPMENT


• Effective email management to keep on top of tasks and issues.
• Coordinate meetings, calls and other events including arranging the technology and structure.
• Lead internal calls and attend client calls where appropriate.

Desired skills & knowledge:

·        Bachelor's degree and/or experience in a role which reflects the skills and client management experience which will be transferred to the world of International Benefits

·        Extensive experience in the insurance/employee benefits sector

·        Have completed training courses/qualifications in core areas such as insurance, international benefits (IEBA), HR or another related discipline

·        Experienced with basic computer skills & packages including Microsoft applications – Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

·        Strong client focus with the ability to develop positive relationships with team members and external contacts

·        Can work well in a fast-paced environment with multiple workstreams and able to achieve and manage timescales for delivery

·        Effective written and verbal communication skills and comfort collaborating with colleagues in both an office and a virtual environment

·        Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively

·        Ability to solve problems and cope with challenges.

 

Further experience, skills, or knowledge

 

·        Relevant corporate & client management experience

·        Fluency or professional proficiency in a foreign language is often helpful

·        Any other professional qualifications or training are also an advantage

Experience working or living abroad is helpful although not required.

My career, my story:...
When I first walked through the doors of Lockton in 2013, I was filled with a mix of excitement and nerves. My journey with Lockton began a year earlier when I participated in a summer program. Alongside a vast cohort of other university students and graduates, I got a taste of what it was like to work at Lockton. After returning to university for my final year, I knew I wanted to return to Lockton full-time. I reached out to HR, and luckily, there was an opening in Major Accounts. Despite my nerves during the interview, I was thrilled when they decided to hire both myself and another candidate (even though there was technically only one position available). Fast forward 11 years, and the business in London has grown significantly. The Major Accounts team has transformed into a global Retail proposition and over the past five to six years, we've merged teams and tripled in size. When I joined, our London team was a a $3 million business. We’ve since grown to a $25+ million business with over 85 Associates. Despite our rapid growth, we still maintain a startup-like atmosphere full of support and appreciation for our clients and each other. We're a $25 million business within a $3 billion global company - growing quickly but with strong support from those around us. The stability at Lockton, with long-standing leaders and minimal reorganisation, has provided a solid foundation for my growth. I've had great managers who have mentored me throughout my journey. Their buy-in has been vital, as they truly care about the growth and careers of our early joiners, our clients, and our Associates. The empowerment of Associates is something Lockton actively encourage and it underpins the entrepreneurial culture of the business. When I first joined, I immediately loved working with our clients. Even today, my favourite part of my role remains solving client’s challenges and their daily interaction is one of the most fulfilling parts of my role. As I've taken on more responsibilities, maintaining strong client relationships has been fundamental and our client-centric approach is a core value at Lockton. Additionally, one of my key focuses continues to be fostering a culture of growth. I care deeply about our younger broker Associates, ensuring they have even more opportunities than I did. It's important to me to guide them and show them the potential of their careers. Our culture is what makes us different and it’s critical that we work hard to maintain our culture and hire the best talent that buy into this. The Partner model at Lockton is a core pillar of our culture. The Partnership not only creates a forum for collaboration and growth but also creates collective cohort of people ready to support each other. Part of the rationale for becoming a Partner was that I wanted to be a role model – to show that you can start as a graduate and become a leader in this business.
