Your Responsibilities
This position is part of the Lockton Meetings and Events team, which is responsible for managing major internal and external conferences and networking events for Lockton, the world’s largest privately held insurance broker.
Reporting to the Director, Meetings and Events, this leader will oversee full-cycle meeting management for the Lockton Dunning Series. Success requires collaboration across teams to define goals and objectives, build program strategy and design, manage site/vendor selection, meeting logistics, technology, budget management, communications, on-site event execution and final reconciliation. The role requires extensive travel, especially to cities in Texas where internal stakeholders and most events are located. While this role is part of a creative team that is passionate about delivering powerful brand experiences, it requires an experienced events leader to guide the planning process.
Responsibilities:
• Drive strategy with senior leaders on objectives, requirements and logistics.
• Ensure Lockton’s events maintain their reputation for being creative, engaging and aligned with our celebrated culture.
• Demonstrate strong negotiation and contracting skills to leverage Lockton’s buying power.
• Develop and manage budgets and support the allocation process.
• Act as key contact with internal clients, venues, contractors, and vendors.
• Create and maintain event timelines and schedules.
• Develop and support registration and mobile app process including event build, reporting, attendee correspondence and troubleshooting.
• Host, advise and train Associates on virtual event platforms and best practices.
• Develop event communications and coordinate design and print needs.
• Build scalable processes and playbooks for event planning and execution.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• 8+ years of event planning experience, preferably in corporate events.
• Strategic thinker with experience improving processes and driving initiatives.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build consensus, share best practices, and communicate point of view effectively.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Comfortable with event technology and learning new platforms quickly.
• Highly organized; works well under pressure.
• Contributes toward the fun team dynamic while being creative, flexible, reliable and self-motivated.
Preferred Skills:
• Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) or working toward designation.
• Cvent or similar registration system experience preferred.
• WebEx or similar virtual meeting platform experience preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel for meetings as needed (projected travel: 30%+)
