Your Responsibilities
Oversees the daily output/transaction levels of the operating payables team, including our offshore partners (GFSC). Makes day-to-day decisions for the Operating Payables team. Manages multiple accounting functions, including general ledger and operating payables. Supervises accounting associates and provides guidance on complex issues. Evaluates accounting processes and systems and implements optimizations. Embraces change and searches regularly for new methods, workflows, policies and tools that increase efficiency, reduce costs and support Lockton’s changing needs.
Responsibilities:
• Effectively supervise and provide leadership while promoting a positive team environment.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of all functional areas and accounting processes with the ability to articulate with management and finance.
• Ensure that all deadlines are set and met, and quality and service standards are maintained.
• Daily monitoring and correction of journals in posting error status.
• Daily monitoring, assigning, and oversight of Operating Payables SysAid tickets.
• Lead the annual 1099 process.
• Lead the escheatment process for Operating Payables checks issued.
• Review the voucher creation and paycycle process for all producer distributions.
• Review recurring payment setup.
• Review returned payments or other payment issues (void and reissue).
• Assist with developing Operating Payables/GFSC benchmarks and ensure team is meeting goals.
• Track Concur backlog to ensure team is keeping up with open items and associates are being paid timely.
• Partner with the Concur team to identify training opportunities and enhancements to help limit the number of expense reports flagged for manual processing.
• Partner with Concur team on complex issues and financial reporting needs.
• Identify areas for process improvements.
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures.
• Lead project teams focused on accounting or organizational initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with the Operating Agreement.
• Ensure compliance with all accounting department policies and procedures.
• Provide direction and development for Operating Payables team.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a bachelor’s degree in Finance with relevant accounting experience.
• 4-6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Must have AP experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people in financial and non-financial roles, including Executives.
• Ability to think critically and challenge processes.
• Ability to convey a professional and positive image and attitude, and foster a team-based environment.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
