Your Responsibilities
Lockton is seeking an Employee Benefits Financial Analyst to deliver strategic financial insights and data-driven solutions for client programs. In this client-facing role, you will prepare and present advanced financial reports, develop pricing and trend models, and advise on cost management strategies to help clients optimize their employee health benefits. This position requires strong analytical expertise, the ability to interpret complex data, and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality results. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and client leadership to ensure high-quality deliverables and impactful recommendations.
Position Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver routine and custom financial reports for self-funded clients; review findings with clients and prepare supporting spreadsheets, charts, and visual tools for presentations.
Develop and apply industry-standard formulas to create pricing, feasibility, and trend models; use financial modeling tools to assess the impact of health reform and other market changes; update templates and databases to improve reporting efficiency.
Analyze client data warehouse information to identify cost or case management opportunities; maintain benchmarking data and leverage insights to support client decisions.
Calculate loss projections, funding rates, and reserve estimates; evaluate stop-loss proposals and negotiate vendor terms and pricing; participate in the negotiation of insurance program terms and costs.
Understand and evaluate retiree medical and Medicare Part D liabilities; serve as a subject matter expert on underwriting, financial reporting, and stop-loss contracts.
Participate in client and prospect presentations, providing insights on financial and underwriting strategies; contribute to a positive client experience through proactive communication and service.
Stay informed on insurance industry developments and regulatory changes; protect confidentiality of client and company information; foster a collaborative and professional work environment.

Qualifications
Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent education and/or experience, with emphasis in math, statistics, or finance required.
Minimum of five years of industry experience, including prior benefits insurance brokerage or consulting experience.
Broad understanding of benefits underwriting guidelines, gained through experience as an underwriter or other applicable role, and familiarity with all lines of coverage.
Ability to compile, analyze, interpret, and present complex financial and statistical data to support decision-making; must understand and discuss corporate balance sheets and financial statements.
Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, statistical analysis, spreadsheet calculations, and database tools; skilled in Microsoft Office applications, with basic proficiency in Power BI and ability to use Microsoft Copilot efficiently.
Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads and meet time-sensitive deadlines; results-oriented with flexibility to adjust priorities as needed.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels, using tact and diplomacy.
Professional presence and ability to interface confidently with senior leadership in client and prospect organizations, representing the company in a highly professional manner.
Willingness and ability to expand knowledge through extended insurance education and other appropriate training beyond licensing requirements.
Ability to attend in-person client meetings, company and department meetings, and industry training sessions as required.
Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods and outside normal business hours as needed.
Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft.
Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting the confidentiality of client and company information.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Ability to attend company, department, and staff meetings as required and perform other work-related duties as assigned.
This position may be eligible for annual discretionary bonus consideration.
