About the Position
The Benefits Coordinator supports the assigned client to provide life-cycle benefit services to the client’s Human Resources department and employees. Responsibilities include employee communication and a range of client-specified benefit or leaves-related services.

Location: This position supports Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serves as a liaison between the client’s Human Resources department, employees, and benefit carriers.
- Develops a detailed understanding and in-depth working knowledge of all employer-sponsored benefit plans.
- Provides a variety of benefit services; based on client needs, duties may include (but are not limited to) the administration and support of qualifying life events, status changes, dependent verification, billing, leaves of absences, benefit enrollments and applications and varied assistance programs.
- When applicable, supports and responds to benefits communication inbox and/or contact center while meeting quality assurance standards set by the client and Lockton.
- Investigates and self-resolves benefit-related concerns, including enrollment, deduction, billing, and claim issues.
- Responds to employee and carrier inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Tracks to distribute all compliance notifications timely.
- Accurately tracks employee services and client support in appropriate systems.
- Creates and maintains a proactive environment by promptly coordinating with supervisors and other appropriate parties when recognizing an accelerated issue or unusual matter to collectively provide solutions and ensure it is resolved thoroughly and accurately.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent and/or related work experience.
- Proven experience operating in Microsoft Excel to include such things as sorting/filtering, pivot tables, and creating formulas.
- Professional experience demonstrating client service skills while multitasking and working with strict deadlines.
- Professional experience demonstrating self-driven solutions with little supervision.
Proven professional experience following a step-by-step process while using deductive reasoning to produce positive outcomes.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- Higher education or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a related field.
- Working knowledge of benefit insurance products, including core and/or voluntary benefit insurance.
- Introduction to the leave of absence process.
- Professional user experience operating in an HRIS payroll/benefit system, or Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Compensation
The starting hourly pay range for this position is $24.03 – $26.44 per hour.
The listed hourly range represents the anticipated minimum and maximum compensation for this position. Actual pay will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to the selected candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, licensure, and internal equity. In most cases, new hires are not brought in at the top of the range, as compensation decisions are evaluated based on the specific circumstances of each hire.
