“You have an idea to get something done – and Lockton is there to support you. It’s spectacular.”

Linda Mitchell, Team Lead, has dedicated time, heart, and energy to raising money and awareness for causes that are important to her since she began working for Lockton 12 years ago. For nine of those years, Linda has proudly served on the Mountain West CARE Committee, a committee designed to support local Associates’ fundraising and volunteering efforts. Not only did her involvement benefit many charitable organizations throughout the Denver area, but it also fostered a wonderful sense of community within Lockton.

Last year, Linda received the 2023 Lockton Community Impact Award. She directed her $25,000 prize to the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation. Twenty-five years ago, she began supporting the CF Foundation when her then-two-year-old neighbor, Haley, was diagnosed with this disease. Since then, with help from Lockton and many others, Linda has organized volunteer teams, garage sales, golf tournaments, and climbs, raising over $300,000 to ensure that Haley and others impacted by CF can lead longer, healthier lives.

Not stopping there, Linda served as co-chair for the Run the Rocks committee that participates in an annual fundraiser supporting the American Lung Association. This year, Lockton was the third-highest fundraising team for the local American Lung Association chapter – something that fills Linda with pride and gratitude. She knows this would not have been achieved without the support of Lockton and her colleagues.

“Lockton is a special place. A lot of places, I imagine, say that they do a lot for the community. But you just know that it is important to Lockton. People might say, ‘How do you know?’ – but we do. It’s a regular thing you hear about in meetings, in the halls, and it’s just a real part of what we do and how we do things. Lockton empowers us to make a difference, which inspires me – and it feels great.”
