What initially attracted you to Lockton?

When I first came across Lockton's summer internship program, I was immediately drawn to the fact that Lockton is privately held and values entrepreneurship. Unlike many other companies I considered during my internship search, Lockton's independence allows it to prioritize doing what's right for its clients and delivering exceptional service. This focus on freedom and service quality stood out to me. Lockton encourages creative thinking and innovative problem-solving to find the best solutions for their clients. This culture of entrepreneurial spirit and independence was what initially attracted me to Lockton.

Favorite thing about Lockton?

My favorite aspect of Lockton that I discovered during my internship, is its unique and thriving culture. Lockton fosters a supportive environment filled with hard-working individuals who genuinely care about each other, their work, and their clients. Throughout my summer at Lockton, I've encountered some of the most dedicated, personable, and caring individuals, all of whom contribute to the company's success. The mutual support among the Associates here is unmatched. The people at Lockton are genuinely invested in each other's success, creating a culture that is both motivating and nurturing.

What was your favorite part of the summer?

The highlight of my summer at Lockton has been the relationships I've built. From fellow interns to my mentor and other Associates, I've formed valuable connections that will go beyond my professional life into my personal life. The various social outings, such as a Cubs game, a visit to the Shedd Aquarium, and volunteering at the Chicago Food Depository, provided opportunities to deepen these relationships. These experiences allowed me to bond with other Associates and mentors on a more personal level, improving my overall internship experience and building lasting connections.

What is one takeaway from your time at Lockton that you will carry with you in the future?

A significant takeaway from my internship at Lockton is the importance of curiosity and the continuous desire to learn. During my time here, I explored the complexities of the insurance industry and realized that a desire to learn and ask questions is key to success. I learned the value of asking "why" and never taking information at face value. As I return to school and eventually begin my professional career, this mindset will be crucial to my success. Maintaining a curious approach will allow me to excel no matter where I go, ensuring continuous growth and success.
