Operations Lead Role – What is involved?
Lockton Global Energy are looking for an Operations Lead to support the COO in delivering the operational strategy and support the ongoing management of the business unit.
What are the typical responsibilities as an Account Administrator?
- Support the COO in delivering LGE’s operational strategy.
- Monitors compliance of Lockton procedures by implementing a consistent and robust file audit system throughout the division, identifying specific areas of concern and ensuring that corrective action is undertaken. Act as first line of audit defence, undertaking ad hoc file audits in support of the above and undertake specific file audits, as requested.
- Monitoring of operational KPIs across the BU, implementing remedial action if performance falls below required standards.
- Monitoring, and improving, cash collection performance across the Division.
- Maintain Divisional Risk Register.
- Oversee the introduction across the BU of new processes/systems, acting as the LGE SME on relevant implementation forums.
- Ongoing evaluation of current systems and processes to establish best practice and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Represent LGE at intra-company meetings.
- Preparation of material for governance meetings (Business Unit reports, Divisional ExCo meetings, Team meetings).
- Work with the COO to track budget and cost performance, and prepare for annual budget cycle.
- Ad hoc support to the Divisional COO and Business Unit Leader as required.
Qualifications
What skills and experience would we like you to have?
- Willingness and ability to continue to develop knowledge through formal and informal learning, both internal and external to the Company.
- Knowledge or resources available within Lockton and how to source such services.
- An understanding of Lockton cash collection processes including, but not limited to, general insurance accounting and client invoicing.
- An understanding of the general, legal principles of insurance.
- An understanding of Risk Management concepts and when these are useful to clients.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with clients, insurers and other Associates.
- Ability to manage time, prioritise and ensure that deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Presentation skills in both preparation and execution.
- Professional and tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.
- An understanding of regulatory controls and procedures relating to both commercial and retail customers, if applicable.
- An understanding of and adherence to Lockton standards and procedures.
- Proficient with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to quickly learn new IT systems.
- Appetite for continual improvement.
