Your Responsibilities
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced compliance professional to join the Lockton Compliance Team in the UK. This role supports Lockton and the Compliance Team to deliver compliance advisory services in the UK and Internationally. This role plays a key part in managing regulatory risk, and supporting the business across the UK and Europe but also shares best practice Internationally.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Enhancing compliance oversight by providing expert, commercially astute, regulatory advice across the full range of the FCA Handbook and relevant financial services regulation to a large and growing insurance broker business
- Interacting with business colleagues through a business partner compliance model to identify and work in a collaborative and pro-active manner to find solutions to a range of matters to support business growth whilst managing regulatory risk.
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders in both the first and third lines.
- Challenging existing processes to support the drive for continuous improvement.
- Supporting the identification of regulatory developments; responding to discussion and consultation papers; and leading or supporting implementation of new regulatory requirements.
- Interpreting regulatory requirements across a broad range of topics such as licensing; client money; SM&CR; permitter guidance; Conduct and IARs/ARs into business processes and controls.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of regulatory developments affecting insurance intermediaries.
- Supporting Compliance monitoring.
- Preparation of governance committee and management reports and papers and representing Compliance at relevant meetings.
- Develop, review, and update internal compliance policies and procedures.
- Identify, create and deliver Compliance training. Act as a key point of contact for compliance-related queries.
- Supporting the development of members of the Compliance Team.
Qualifications
You should have the following experience:
- Significant regulatory experience in a compliance role
- Strong knowledge of UK insurance regulation and FCA Handbook
- Experience working in a compliance role within an insurance firm, broker or MGA
- Understanding of risk management frameworks and internal controls
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them pragmatically
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant field
- Professional qualifications such as Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), ICA or other compliance-related certifications are desirable.
