About Lockton Northeast: 
Lockton's Northeast Series includes offices in the metro areas spanning from Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York City, Hartford, Boston, to Portland, ME. The Series grew by double digits the last fiscal year, all organically – not through acquisitions – a true testament to the dedication, passion, and expertise Lockton associates deliver. 

About the Role:

The Client Manager is at the forefront of our Lockton Northeast Client Engagement strategy. They execute product line specific strategy aligned with overall Client strategy. They are directly responsible for providing Clients with strategic and tactical product line support while providing excellent day to day service. He / she handles all aspects the Client Engagement process including placement and advisory functions.

The goal of the Client Manager role is to develop a trusted relationship with the Client and support their overall business objectives / strategy. A high performing and successful Client Manager will be a strategic leader, deliver transactional excellence and provide strong customer service.

A Client Manager in the International Practice is independently and wholly responsible for a complex book of global clients; this will entail translating risk and loss profiles into solutions through program design across all lines of cover through a compliance lens. He / she will build long-term, trusted advisor relationships with clients, Producers and Associates, supporting business growth. The International Client Manager drives accountability for execution of account strategies by delegating and empowering supporting Associates on the Lockton Global Solutions team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary international liaison between Lockton and Clients, providing technical advice / service on international insurance programs
  • Provides visible leadership, both internally and externally
  • Cultivates relationships with the most senior relationship in the Client organization as well as with day-to-day Client representatives and buyers
  • Understands the Client’s overall business, operations, risk management needs to provide strategic advice and day to day support. Aligns developed risk strategies with our clients' financial, operational and strategic goals / objectives
  • Identifies and delivers an international total cost of risk strategy
  • Maintains overall responsibility for all aspects of the renewal process and day to day service
  • Leverages analytics to develop risk strategies, support renewal negotiations and help Clients make informed decisions
  • Responds to Client’s inquiries, maintains documentation of communications, existing issues, and issue resolutions
  • Collaborates with Client Executives to ensure and optimize overall service delivery to Clients
  • Works closely with Producers to develop and implement Casualty strategies to expand business / earn new business
  • Supports team training and development efforts. Is vested in the development of all Associates
  • Global program engagement (strategy, program design, placement, implementation, and execution) across all lines of business
  • Assist practices in accessing capacity in local markets where needed
  • Serve as the sole point of contact for the Lockton Global Partnership
  • Deliver thought leadership in the global risk arena
  • Deliver all the resources Lockton has to offer globally

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (business administration or international affairs preferred) or equivalent education and/or experience required
  • A minimum of five years of commercial Property and Casualty insurance experience and / or insurance broking / consulting experience required
  • Understanding of insurance/risk management concepts and their application to Clients’ needs
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial information to facilitate decision making and develop an understanding of the financial condition of Clients and prospects
  • Ability to market and service multinational programs; thorough understand of commercial insurance rating concepts
  • Must have exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to instill confidence in Clients and Associates at all levels of responsibility
  • Flexibility to travel both domestically and abroad; both accompanied and alone
  • Extensive knowledge of global regulatory landscape and nuances
  • Licensed broker in their state of residency or state of employment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of foreign language(s) and/or experience working/traveling overseas a plus
  • Legally able to work in the United States

With a $25,000 donation from Lockton, Liz Spencer, AVP, Account Executive, and her colleagues in the Hartford office will continue to support those with disabilities in their community. Liz received the Community Impact Award for the Northeast region. The award recognizes an Associate in each region with a $25,000 donation on behalf of the Lockton family and shareholders to a charity of the Associate’s choice as a thank you from Lockton.  She will be giving the donation to Oak Hill, a nonprofit that provides support, educational programs, and a safe haven for people with disabilities. The Hartford office first became involved with the charity by adopting classrooms for an annual holiday drive. They are now on the fourth year of the drive, where they donate gifts to disabled children and their families. “To be able to see the kids in person and see who we are impacting is truly amazing,” Liz said. “A mom came back to us last year and was talking about how the earmuffs we bought for her son truly changed his life because of the sensory issues that he has. To see this kind of impact is what drives us.” Lockton’s pillar of giving back to the community resonates with Liz, and she continues to emphasize it to fellow Associates. She sees this emphasis on giving back as what sets Lockton apart. “It’s a great motivation to keep moving forward and a reminder to new Associates that Lockton means it when we say that giving back to the community is important,” she said. When the award is given to Oak Hill, she knows that it will make a significant difference to the organization. With the help of this award, Oak Hill and the Hartford office can continue to make positive change in the community. “Although I’m personally being recognized, I really feel like our office is being recognized which feels so special,” Liz said. “We’re all in it as a team and are so passionate about supporting Oak Hill. It’s so special to be able to bring that back to our office and note that our collective work and support around Oak Hill is being recognized.”

Jordan Moss, Senior Vice President of Lockton Global Real Estate & Construction, has bravely fought melanoma for over 12 years, with many respites of recovery yet tempered by periodic setbacks. To talk with him or be with him, you would never know Jordan was sick or had experienced any of this. He is pure forward-motion, strength, resolve, positivity, and heart. "Chase fulfillment,” he says. And this has become a life motto. Jordan uses this, along with his natural physical strength (he was a champion amateur weightlifter), to create and implement his mindset. Within this is a boldly lived responsibility to help as many people as he can. As he says, “I feel it is my responsibility.” His leadership and involvement with Lockton GREAC’s Charitable Association exemplify this. Jordan and the GREAC team wanted to make an activity in which everyone could participate and so they conceptualized an event where GREAC “Crossed the Atlantic” during the month of March 2023. With the help of a fitness-tracking app, the office charted their collective progress. “It didn’t matter what you contributed, you could walk your dog, go for a run, row, bike or swim. All efforts were welcomed and applied to our goal.” Jordan led the charge. Every day, no matter what, Jordan did something. He would often wake up at 4 a.m., run, row, or use the bike. He believed his commitment and dedication would inspire others – and he was right. The entire office took part, and they met their goal – with a few days to spare – raising £2,650 in the process. This past year, GREAC also took on The Thames Path Challenge, an infamous event that sees hundreds of competitors pit themselves against one of the UK’s longest national trails. It’s a grueling 100 km race, not for the faint of heart. Over 20 GRE&C Associates battled the heat and participated in The Thames Path Challenge. Together, they raised £3,951 for the Alzheimer's Society and The Brain Tumour Charity, the charity personally selected by Jordan for the incredible work that they do in support of cancer patients and their families. It was a tremendous achievement. "The support and teamwork were unbelievable. This is a perfect example of Lockton’s culture, of how we come together, support one another, and make a lasting impact. Lockton is bigger than just a company, it is a socially responsible and caring team.”

As a father of a son with special needs, Managing Director Mark Zwickel has devoted his free time to helping members of the neurodiverse community. Mark was the Pacific region’s winner of Lockton’s Community Impact Award and is donating the $25,000 grant to the Friendship Foundation. The Friendship Foundation supports parents and families who have children and young adults with special needs by providing a safe, accepting and inclusive environment where they can enjoy sports, art, music and many other social and recreational programs with their peers (both neurodiverse and neurotypical). Mark’s son, Jeremy, was one of the original eight children who participated in the Friendship Foundation programs when it began in 2005. Since then, he and his family have provided financial support, countless volunteer hours, community involvement and insurance consulting services to the organization. This donation from the Lockton family will help fund construction of the brand-new Friendship Campus, which will provide skill building, vocational training, and job placement, giving students with special needs the tools to transform the workforce and find a lifelong passion and purpose. Community is a key pillar at Lockton, showcased through the support of our local communities and the causes that our Associates are passionate about. Mark believes this award demonstrates how strongly Lockton focuses on and impacts the areas in which we work. “This is something that everyone knows I am passionate about and have been involved with for almost 20 years. The fact that it is local, impactful and something I care so deeply about is rewarding,” he said. “It really shows the commitment of Lockton in helping support the community and the Associates' causes.” After his years of work at Lockton and with the Friendship Foundation, this award allows Mark to grow his impact on the neurodiverse community and his commitment to helping those around him. "With my retirement right around the corner, the timing could not be better. I have worked in this office for 28 years. I have seen us grow and have developed meaningful relationships with great people. To go out on such a high note by receiving this award with direct recognition on the importance of my work just emphasizes how much Lockton cares about giving back to the community.”

Kim Alford believes giving back to our community is what we are supposed to do. As an Associate Experience Lead, she’s able to take her personal passion and develop opportunities for Lockton Associates to give back to their local communities. When she first heard about HouseProud, she knew she had to get involved – both personally and through Lockton. HouseProud serves local communities by providing no-cost home repairs to low-income senior, veteran, and disabled homeowners. “They prevent developers from taking the homes from families, making them more inhabitable, and enable the homeowner live the rest of their lives in the home they own,” explained Kim. “That gives such a sense of pride to those that have been through a lot.” Each year, the Atlanta and Birmingham offices contribute hours of time painting, cleaning and sprucing up residents’ homes – and Kim is always leading the way. Because of her ongoing impact, Kim was awarded the Lockton Community Impact Award for the Southeast region. The award recognizes an Associate in each region with a $25,000 donation on behalf of the Lockton family and shareholders to a charity of the Associate’s choice as a thank you from Lockton. Kim selected HouseProud. “I was completely shocked and questioned if it should be me, simply because there are so many others in our Series that give back to the community as well,” Kim explained. At Lockton, giving back to our communities remains a foundational element in our culture, and has been since we were founded in 1966. “Winning this award wasn’t about me,” Kim said. “It was about providing me an opportunity to give back to the community. I’m so thankful that the Lockton family has enable us to help out the community in such a large way.”
