Your Responsibilities
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides professional, administrative support for the Medical, Dental, Vision, Spending accounts,
- STD/LTD, and voluntary benefits (critical illness, hospital indemnity and accident).
- Responsible for researching benefit plans, communicating with employees and resolving any
benefit-related issues. - Assist employees regarding benefit claim issues and plan changes.
- Provides excellent customer service by responding via phone and email to a variety of questions
and concerns. - Performs daily administrative tasks including responding to emails and phone calls, processing
qualified life events, reviewing, entering, and approving information in the HRIS system. - Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes.
- Develop communications on new plans and policies and communicate new plans, policies as
required to employees and HR. - Coordinate annual open enrollment activities; reviews the latest benefit details, can communicate
details to answer questions and understand eligibility and enrollment process. - Attends and participates in professional group meetings; stays abreast of new trends and
innovations in the field of benefit administration. - Exercise judgment and discretion in seeking advice to ensure compliance with federal laws such as
- ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA and state laws in regard to the multiple states in which our clients do
business.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with a diverse client
population, both internal and external, to relay accurate, appropriate and timely information. - Strong organizational skills, strict attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, HRIS systems, Carrier systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborate with other departments and external partners/vendors.
- Work under steady pressure with frequent interruptions and a high degree of contact by phone,
email or in-person. - Ability to be flexible in a dynamic work environment.
- Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive
information, records, and reports. - Familiar with carrier administration systems (BCBS, UHC, Cigna, Delta Dental) and understanding of
connection between benefits admin system and the carrier. - Positive attitude and reliable teammate.
Education and Experience:
- BS in Business Administration, HR or related field and/or years of experience equivalent
- A minimum of two years of benefits administration experience primarily in the areas of health, new
employee onboarding and annual open enrollment. - Management or leadership experience is a plus.
