Your Responsibilities
Lockton Affinity, in Overland Park, KS is seeking an Accounts Receivable Team Leader to join our accounting team. Supervises the overall collection of accounts receivable; to ensure timely payment of accounts receivable to prevent financial losses. Overall responsibility for Accounts Receivable functions and development of 3-5 associate direct reports.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors the workload of Accounts Receivable unit to ensure all functions are performed accurately and timely meeting Company standards.
- Reviews department procedures and implements approved process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Prepares and delivers timely performance evaluations for associates supervised.
- Provides training for Accounts Receivable associates.
- Responsible for the accounting onboarding of new programs and or products sold by the Company
- Makes positive contribution to customer satisfaction and constantly strives to improve service to customers, both internal and external.
- Protects the confidentiality of all information learned by performing the duties of the position.
- Communicates in a positive manner to contribute to a cohesive, pleasant work environment.
- Follows up on problem accounts; obtains information from customers or associate assigned to account or other departments to resolve issues
- Handles requests for intent to cancel insurance, reinstatement, and cancellation of insurance for non-payment in compliance with cancellation guidelines.
- Reports and discusses potential trouble accounts to Premium Transaction Supervisor, offers solutions for collection and provides recommendations for handling.
- Oversees follow-through efforts on collections resulting from audits.
- Analyzes receivables reports.
- Makes recommendations to Premium Transaction Supervisor regarding account write-offs.
- Could be responsible for month-end closing of assigned agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
- At Least 5 years of experience in the Accounts Receivable field.
- Proven track record of excellent customer service.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to understand, communicate with, find solutions for, deserve respect from and motivate a team of associates.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Products, i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel.
OTHER SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to learn other software systems used throughout our company.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to instill confidence and comfort with customers to facilitate account collection using high degree of tact and diplomacy.
