Position Overview
Lockton Northeast People Solutions (Employee Benefits) is seeking an experienced Precision Health professional responsible for providing consulting services in the population health, care management, and well-being area. The Consultant will analyze medical, pharmacy, disease management and wellness data, and manipulate complex data sets to provide actionable insights and data-driven strategies. The role also leads client engagements and supports Lockton’s sales professionals in the sales process.
Core Responsibilities
- Work directly with the Precision Health (PH) team, employer clients and the Lockton client service teams to identify population health risks and factors impacting health care costs by reviewing data in Lockton’s proprietary health analytics tool. (This role does not involve writing code or developing reports from raw clinical data.)
- Lead due diligence assessments of clinical and health management services provided by carriers/TPAs to evaluate capabilities, processes, staffing, and member impact—ensuring a comprehensive evaluation across the continuum of care.
- Work closely with clients and Lockton Associates to identify key disease states driving high risk and cost within their population and develops clinical recommendations.
- Analyze clinical and cost data, and transform into client exhibits with actionable insights that, when executed, lead to measurable results.
- As needed, review member-specific claims data to assist with confirmation of treatment plan and provide guidance on member appeals as indicated, while maintaining member confidentiality.
- Work with disease and condition management solutions to develop outcomes reporting to measure program impact.
- Evaluate new programs, products, and vendors in the marketplace.
- Serves as hands-on population health and well-being expert; prepares and reviews project deliverables to be sure they meet client’s objectives and project requirements.
- Develop and deploy long-term health promotion strategies and action plans through a collaborative process, identify the right-fit solutions, and monitor performance and results.
- Measures results of a client’s experience against agreed upon performance metrics and contractual provisions.
· Keep abreast of industry trends and research findings to support clinical, evidence-based recommendations and engagements.
- Provides direction and development opportunities to members of the Practice.
- Successfully manages multiple and concurrent projects, priorities, and tasks.
- Supports the sales process, working closely with Lockton Producers and Associates in discussing health risk solutioning with clients and prospects.
- Actively participates in finalist meetings and client meetings.
- Leads efforts in the development of Precision Health materials, RFIs, RFPs, contracts, reporting, training materials, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field.
- RN or PA, with 7+ years' clinical experience.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Advanced working knowledge of well-being and health management group benefits, services, and programs.
- Firm understanding of concepts, issues, and overall impact of population health/well-being pricing practices.
- Ability to analyze and interpret various financial information and data to facilitate decision-making.
- Proven ability to organize and manage time to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.
- Insurance industry knowledge through experience and/or course work.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to lead, coach and mentor other Associates.
- Ability and willingness to travel as necessary to visit Lockton clients and prospective clients.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and execute oral and written instruction.
- Consistently demonstrated ability to instill confidence with clients so that client looks to you and to Lockton as more than just an employee benefits consultant, but as a partner in business.
- Consistently demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with Lockton Associates and clients at all levels of responsibility.
- Exemplary presentation skills, including preparation and execution.
- Demonstrated understanding of when to proceed alone and when to involve others.
- Strong personal presence to interface with top management of other businesses, representing Lockton in the highest professional manner.
