Your Responsibilities
Lockton Affinity, located in Overland Park, Kansas is searching for a Premium Payables Supervisor. The Premium Payables Supervisor will be responsible and accountable for timely and accurate reporting and payment of carrier partners. Provides day to day direction to a dedicated team in areas such as business process, best practices, accounting technologies, service standards, training and development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
- Develops and maintains favorable internal and external relationships, with the end goal of providing the highest level of customer service.
- Responsible for day to day adherence to business process standards and efforts made toward process improvement.
- Leads team performance in handling all assigned duties.
- Recommends potential enhancements or improvements to processes, products, and/or policies.
- Identifies, researches and resolves routine and moderately complex inquiries and issues.
- Manages reporting and payment for a group of Carriers.
- Work with Accounting leadership, Underwriting, Program Executive(s) and other Associates to initiate setup and reporting for new markets, or changes to current markets’ requirements.
- Work with Accounting leadership, Client Solutions, Operations and other Associates to resolve carrier issues resulting from program workflows.
- Participates in document collection and process reviews for Carrier audits, and in instituting resulting changes.
- Provides Accounting leadership with monthly overview of Premium Payables ledger and any aging issues.
Team Performance Management and Development
- Creates assigned team Associates performance objectives and development plans.
- Identifies individual or team competencies, devises activities to close gaps.
- Prepares and delivers performance evaluations.
- Hire, train and motivate staff to exceed performance goals.
- Monitor workloads, making changes as appropriate.
- Holds regularly scheduled team meetings.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience preferred.
- Insurance industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI & other Microsoft products.
- Prior experience with leading and supervising a team of direct reports.
- Demonstrated professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines.
