Your Responsibilities
The National People Solutions Talent Development Consultant will create and execute professional, consulting, leadership, and technical development programs for associates across the country in our National People Solutions Practice, aligned with business growth goals. This consultant will collaborate with leaders to identify needs, tap into the national talent development network for programming support, develop customized programs to meet the specific needs of associates in the specialty practice areas, and promote learning resources to bolster the technical proficiency and professional growth of associates in the practice. This consultant will also facilitate leadership and professional development coaching sessions with practice leaders and with associates, facilitate group talent development sessions, and manage day-to-day talent development program administration.
Position Responsibilities
- Create a multi-tiered leadership development program to meet the needs of leaders at different levels in the organization. Facilitate 1:1 and group leadership development coaching.
- Design and develop new, engaging, and interactive content and deliver it via a variety of delivery methods, including instructor-led training, e-learning, and blended learning.
- Facilitate in-person sessions in Kansas City, Dallas and other locations, and virtual sessions to include associates in all domestic geographies. Recruit, manage, and recognize volunteer facilitators, and work with volunteer facilitators to improve content and delivery. Share knowledge of what specific specialty groups are doing with other groups to build robust, consistent learning and development programs within individual groups in the national practice.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback mechanisms. Improve technical content and delivery methods based on learner feedback and industry trends.
- Collaborate with stakeholders/leaders to identify technical skill gaps. Conduct thorough needs assessments and develop strategies and programs to address identified gaps. Collaborate with leaders to create competency matrices.
- Meet with supervisors to suggest technical learning and development for associates, help supervisors create 90-day development plans for new associates, and help supervisors facilitate career mapping conversations.
- Collaborate with external training vendors to leverage their expertise and resources as needed. Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate vendor contracts to ensure cost-effective and high-quality solutions. Cultivate relationships with carriers in the employee benefits marketplace offering live and on-demand learning resources.
- Communicate talent development updates in practice meetings.
- Manage the talent development calendar, to include scheduling live talent development sessions, forwarding session invitations to facilitators and associates, managing course announcements, coordinating and supporting volunteer facilitators, communicating prework and homework as needed.
- Work with other members of the national practice to leverage communication platforms like Seismic, Viva, and the Knowledge Center to promote learning and development resources.
- Create and update annually a talent development program guide specific to specialty practices.
- Work closely within the national talent development network to identify development opportunities for national practice associates, to improve communication and working relationships between national practice associates and those in the Series.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., organizational development, talent development, instructional design, human resources, business administration) or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years in learning and development, including leadership development.
- Previous experience coaching others.
- Knowledge of instructional design principles and learning methodologies.
- Proficiency in developing and delivering technical programs using various delivery methods.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and other online learning tools like Articulate Rise.
- Enthusiasm for fostering leadership and career growth.
- A commitment to inclusivity, collaboration and promoting a positive learning culture.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, including virtual instructor-led sessions.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to adapt to changing business needs and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Must be willing to travel by automobile and aircraft up to 30% of the time.
