Position Overview
The Senior Client Manager is at the forefront of our Lockton Northeast Client Engagement strategy. This position executes global strategies across lines of business, ensuring alignment with clients' overall strategies. The primary responsibility is to provide strategic and tactical support while delivering exceptional day-to-day service. The goal is to establish trusted relationships with clients and support their business objectives effectively.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide visible leadership internally and externally.
- Cultivate relationships with senior client representatives and buyers, understanding their business needs to provide strategic advice.
- Maintain overall responsibility for the renewal process, day-to-day service delivery, and Lockton Global communication.
- Utilize analytics to develop risk strategies, support negotiations, and assist clients in making informed decisions.
- Collaborate with client executives and producers to optimize service delivery and expand business.
- Support team training and development efforts, investing in the growth of all associates.
- Architect and execute global client service plans, establishing standards aligned with client global risk management philosophy.
- Deliver thought leadership in the global risk arena and leverage Lockton's global capabilities to benefit clients.
- Cultivate long-term, trusted advisor relationships with clients, producers, and associates to support business growth.
- Drive accountability for execution by empowering and delegating tasks to supporting associates within the Lockton Global Solutions team.
- Adhere to Lockton cultural values and foster a respectful and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (business administration or international affairs preferred) or equivalent education and/or experience required
- A minimum of five years of commercial Property and Casualty insurance experience and/or insurance broking/consulting experience required
- Strong relationships with global clients—understand their global insurance needs and requirements
- Commitment to fostering a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
- Ability to delegate effectively while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
- Ability to act as a trusted advisor, delivering proactive insights and strategic guidance.
- Strong presentation and communication skills tailored to executive audiences.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for client service and innovation.
- High integrity, humility, and a team-first attitude.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for contributing to a broader mission beyond individual success.
- Firm grasp of the English language with exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills to interact and instill confidence with Associates and clients at all levels of responsibility, globally
- Understanding of insurance/risk management concepts and their application to Clients’ needs
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial information to facilitate decision making and develop an understanding of the financial condition of Clients and prospects
- Ability to market and service multinational programs; thorough understand of commercial insurance rating concepts
- Maintains a network of key insurer relationships
- Superior negotiation skills
- Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information
- Willingness and ability to work outside of normal business hours
- Flexibility to travel both domestically and abroad; both accompanied and alone
- Extensive knowledge of global regulatory landscape and nuances
- Licensed broker in state of residency or state of employment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of foreign language(s) and/or experience working/traveling overseas a plus
- Legally able to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for this position, now or in the future
