About this Role
The Production Specialist assists the Senior Production Specialist and Graphic Designers with document production, ensuring high-quality, print-ready files. This detail-oriented team player can work independently but may have projects managed or monitored. The complexity of tasks may vary.
This is primarily an in-office position with potential for remote work under special circumstances, in compliance with Lockton's remote work policies.
Your Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Creative Services Senior Production Specialist, Associate Graphic Designer, Graphic Designer, Senior Graphic Designer or Art Director to create print-ready documents.
- Mentor the Assistant Production Specialist and delegate appropriate tasks to that role to help with efficiency.
- Produce finished documents for print and digital mediums.
- Apply design principles and tools to execute layouts in line with brand and production standards.
- Communicate project status, deadlines, and absences to supervisors to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Collaborate with Associates to understand requirements, address project questions and meet expectations.
- Maintain an up-to-date project dashboard.
- Follow established procedures and utilize available resources (brand guidelines, AP Stylebook, proofreading team) to achieve quality results.
- Consistently meet deadlines and deliver quality customer service.
- Produce high-quality work in a fast-paced, high-volume, and structured environment.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Associates degree in graphic design or communication and 1 to 3 years document production experience.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
- Thorough understanding of graphic design principles.
- Self-motivated, able to balance administrative tasks and document production.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and workflow streamlining skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions effectively.
- Professional negotiation and persuasion skills.
- High-level verbal, written, listening, and people skills for client interactions.
- Strong ability to meet end-user design specifications for simple design concepts.
- Ability to produce high-quality work in a high-volume, demanding environment.
- Willingness to expand knowledge through classes and workshops in graphic arts and business skills.
- Strong aptitude for English language, including grammar, punctuation, and proofreading.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, and investigation skills.
- Preferred typing speed of 65 wpm with minimal errors.
- Strong organizational and time management skills required to manage heavy workloads and meet deadlines with minimal errors.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to provide consultative feedback to Associates at all levels.
- Adaptable to process and workflow changes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry trends and Lockton brand standards.
- Collaborative team player, ready to support others.
- Availability for short-notice overtime as needed.
