Your Responsibilities
Fueled by our success and expanding business opportunities, we are seeking an experienced Vice President to join our growing Stop Loss carrier consulting team. This team is dedicated to evaluating, supporting, and enhancing the services available to our Stop Loss Carrier Partners, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions, strengthening market competitiveness, and creating long-term value for both carriers and employer clients. We have a unique role for a professional with proven expertise in delivering stop loss market insights, analysis and recommendations, combined with deep industry knowledge to develop collaborative strategies that enhance decision-making and drive strategic growth for our carrier partners.
• Work closely with Lockton Complex Claims (Stop Loss) Specialty Practice and Carrier Partners to design innovative, differentiated solutions and products that drive value for both Carrier Partnerships and Lockton Clients.
• Research and evaluate carrier product offerings, industry best practices, and emerging industry trends to inform and shape strategic recommendations.
• Analyze current and historical Stop Loss book of business and marketing results to identify market trends and develop actionable strategies to help Carrier Partners respond to market pressures.
• Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for Carrier Partners to strengthen service offerings and enhance the client delivery experience.
• Provide timely, data-driven feedback to Carrier Partners to support strategic underwriting, renewals, and overall partnership alignment.
• Oversee collaboration and coordination between Lockton and Carrier Partners’ Clinical teams to ensure visibility into high-cost claimant interventions, outcomes, and emerging healthcare trends.
• Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Stop Loss Carrier Partners.
• Conduct post-marketing cycle reviews with Carrier Partners to identify performance improvement opportunities and evolve best practices.
• Facilitate escalated case reviews with the Complex Claims Specialty Practice, ensuring resolution and knowledge sharing.
• Represent the practice at industry conferences and events, contributing to thought leadership, market presence, and brand visibility.
• Perform other related responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent professional years of experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in stop loss insurance underwriting/healthcare rating or consulting.
• Deep expertise in the stop loss insurance industry, including regulatory requirements, market trends, competitive landscape, technology platforms, and distribution strategies.
• Strong financial analysis skills with experience evaluating large datasets in a healthcare brokerage or insurance carrier environment.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to complex problems in an evolving market landscape.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to perform in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) preferred.
• Current required license or ability to immediately obtain.
• Must be available for travel and willing to accept responsibility for client/vendor entertainment.
