Your Responsibilities
Lockton Affinity, LLC in Overland Park, Kansas is seeking a Team Lead, which will be responsible for a dedicated team within the Insurance Administration Services unit. They will work with management to define team goals, oversee the work performed and ensure goals and service standards are met. This role is responsible for managing the production, efficiency and accuracy for their team. They will define department procedures and review exception reports to meet underwriting standards. Individual will be responsible for assessing the training needs of Associates, develop and implement training plans and oversee the professional development of Associates while fostering a positive work environment.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and approve Payroll/Timecards and Paid Time Off.
- Collaborate with supervisor to complete midyear and annual performance reviews.
- Facilitate One-On-One Status Meetings with all Associates on a regular basis with and/or without supervisor.
- Define and oversee a reasonable workload for Associates to manage each day.
- Establish goals for individual Associates and team and hold Associates accountable seeking guidance from supervisor when necessary.
- Work with supervisor and Associates to establish individualized development plan and hold Associate accountable.
- Delegate work at both the Senior and staff levels and prioritize appropriately.
- Actively work with other departments as an intermediary and advocate for team and Operations.
- Create new tools and process to generate efficiencies within Operations.
- Encourage innovation across the team.
- Provide periodic updates on team workload and progress to management.
Hold staff accountable for designated reporting. Monitor reporting that staff is responsible for and hold them accountable. Accountable to
Department Manager for all team reporting.
- Identify and develop new reports.
- Providing support to supervisor and/or Department Manager by taking/ initiative on assisting with projects and work assignments.
- Develop training materials responsible for ongoing maintenance to remain current.
- Disseminate procedural updates and clarify as necessary.
- Interview potential Associates with supervisor and contribute to hiring decisions.
- Designate training schedule for new Associates then monitor and assess progress.
- Provide and foster an engaged, collaborative and positive team morale.
- Work closely with supervisor to navigate through human relations issues.
- Be transparent and keep supervisor and/or Department Manager apprised of personnel issues or concerning trends.
Demonstrate flexibility and act as an example and role model for the team.
Complete staff level work as necessary always remaining a team player (less than 25% of time spent).
TEAM PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT
- Assist in the creation of Associate’s performance objectives and development plans.
- Participate in assigned team Associate’s performance evaluation process.
- Prepare and maintain training schedule/guide for Associates.
- Prepare and maintain training schedules/guides for Associates and keep Department Manager apprised of changes or concerns.
- Hold regular One-on-One meetings with associates, documenting discussion and performance.
- Responsible for quality review of work completed by the Associates.
- Protect the confidentiality of information learned by performing the duties of the position.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend department meetings, educational workshops, program meetings.
- Hold regularly scheduled team meetings
- Conduct periodic training sessions for Operations staff and other departments as necessary
- Exhibit a positive “can-do” attitude that stimulates and inspires team Associates and is flexible to changing work requirements
- Perform other work related duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prefer 2-3 years of related insurance experience.
- Associates degree in business or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Prefer 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
- Associate is a subject matter expert across multiple disciplines within Insurance Admin Services.
Solid aptitude for mathematical proficiency.
Strong organizational and time management skills to meet time sensitive deadlines and ability to work with the appropriate sense of urgency
while leading others to do the same.
- Ability to speak, understand and carry out complex verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to use word processing and database software in an automated office environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Products, i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel.
