Your Responsibilities
Based in London, this position reflects the international nature of Lockton’s M&A and investment activity and will work closely with senior leaders across regions to evaluate and execute strategic transactions.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape and build Lockton’s newly formed Corporate Development function. The successful candidate will not only support active transactions but also contribute to the development of internal processes, tools, and best practices that will guide how Lockton evaluates and executes inorganic growth opportunities globally.
About the Role
As a key member of the Corporate Development team, you will support cross-border acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships that align with Lockton’s long-term business strategy. You will report to the Vice President of Corporate Development, based in Kansas City, and will collaborate closely with stakeholders across Lockton’s global businesses and corporate functions.
Role responsibilities will include:
- Support the execution of M&A and strategic investment transactions globally
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate optimal deal structure, valuation, return metrics, and scenario analysis
- Analyze company financials, business performance, and key value drivers to assess potential opportunities
- Coordinate due diligence across internal functional teams (legal, tax, finance, HR, IT, operations) and external advisors
- Assist in the development of internal investment summaries and presentation materials for executive stakeholders
- Help negotiate transaction documentation in partnership with legal, finance, and business leads
- Support post-close integration planning and coordination
- Assist in tracking investment performance and developing reporting for senior leadership
- Contribute to the development of the Corporate Development function’s infrastructure, including workflow design, diligence templates, and standard operating procedures
- Monitor industry trends and maintain awareness of key players in Lockton’s strategic sectors
Qualifications
Your knowledge and expertise:
- Several years of relevant experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, transaction advisory, private equity, or management consulting
- Exceptional ability to build relationships and earn the trust of business colleagues
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills (e.g., DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality executive materials
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Team-oriented with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Global mindset and comfort working across time zones and cultures
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and sound business judgment
Education/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
- Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., ACA, CFA, MBA) preferred but not required
