Making an impact: Da...
Daisy Roldan, Senior Account Manager, knows firsthand the impact cancer can have on a community. “My best friend's mother was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and passed away a year later,” Daisy shared. “I witnessed my friend’s emotional journey through her mother’s diagnosis and treatment—the highs, the lows, and ultimately, the heartbreak of losing her. That experience moved me profoundly and inspired me to take action.” Daisy wanted to support organizations that are advancing treatments and cures, while also helping patients and families navigate their cancer journeys. She began raising awareness and supporting organizations like the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) through fundraising, advocacy, and volunteer work. Her continued dedication earned her a regional 2025 Lockton Cares Community Impact Award. The Community Impact Awards honor Lockton Associates across the globe who go above and beyond to improve their communities through volunteering and philanthropy. Each recipient can direct a $25,000 donation to a charity of their choice, funded directly by the Lockton family. “I was incredibly honored and humbled,” said Daisy. “It’s a privilege to be recognized, especially when it means being able to give back to a cause that means so much to me.” The $25,000 donation will fund critical research, patient support services, and advocacy initiatives – contributing directly to improving treatment options and outcomes for those battling blood cancers. “This award is a reflection of the collective efforts of everyone who has supported LLS alongside me,” she said. “It’s a testament to what we can achieve when we come together for a cause greater than ourselves.” With the support of Lockton leadership and her colleagues, Daisy plans on expanding her personal impact with LLS to continue making a difference. In fact, Daisy recently participated in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Visionaries of the Year campaign, which raised over $250,000 to fund research, provide education and support, and drive policy change. “I hope to expand my involvement by increasing fundraising efforts and helping LLS reach broader audiences. I’d also love to collaborate on initiatives that bring more awareness to early detection and treatment options. Lockton’s culture of compassion and community has been instrumental. The support from Lockton has empowered me to pursue my passions and make a meaningful impact outside of work.”

Lockton Associates s...
Written by Lee Short, Content Specialist After Hurricanes Helene and Milton devastated communities in Florida, Tennessee, and North Carolina, Lockton Associates quickly rallied to provide aid. Thankfully, all Associates affected by the storms were safe and accounted for. However, many experienced property damage, displacement, and extensive power outages. Through the Lockton Cares Fund, the Lockton family committed $150,000 to support critical relief efforts via Operation Airdrop, the United Way Hurricane Helene Fund, and World Central Kitchen.   Lockton Associates were invited to support colleagues directly impacted by the hurricanes and the response was extraordinary. Within hours, we were flooded with donations. Through the generosity of Lockton Associates, more than $21,000 was raised to support those directly impacted by the hurricanes. The Lockton family matched the amount, bringing total relief funds to $42,000. Every financial hardship grant request from affected Associates was honored, ensuring meaningful support reached those who needed it most. Several Associates across the Southeast also stood out in their effort. Based in the Charlotte office, Senior Account Manager Angela Powers was surrounded by tragedy in Clyde, North Carolina. With entire neighborhoods turned into rivers, homes being destroyed, and widespread power outages, Powers and her husband were determined to help rebuild their community. “We started looking for how we could help and what we could do because it was so immense,” Powers said. “It’s still immense.” Powers highlighted her gratitude for the immediate support from her Lockton colleagues and the Lockton Cares initiative. Hundreds of Associates contributed donations and time to hurricane relief efforts, making it possible for Powers and her husband to coordinate and distribute supplies to families. "As soon as we could get the word out that we were okay to everybody at Lockton, they immediately said, ‘Don’t worry about anything here; go help your community,’” Powers said. “I thought that was really telling of the Lockton Cares philosophy." Similarly, in the Tampa office, Senior Account Manager Kathy Harper and her husband quickly traveled to severely impacted communities. They journeyed to Unicoi, Tennessee, with a truckload of winter clothes, blankets, baby items, over-the-counter medicine, and other supplies. Harper and her husband volunteered at a donation center set up at a local campground and assisted families from the hard-hit Bumpus Cove community. “Many of these families lost everything they owned,” Harper said. Harper also emphasized the work the team at the donation center did, such as helping recover valuables from homes before demolition and providing families with clothes, blankets, and camping equipment. With support from both her community and Lockton Cares, Harper and her husband were able to step in and provide hands-on relief to those in need. “I feel fortunate to work for a company that gives back to communities,” Harper said. “Lockton allowed me to use my volunteer day to assist with the ongoing efforts.” Although both made a significant impact, Powers and Harper found that much work remains to be done to recover. Since donation centers across the Southeast have been overstocked with donated supplies, Powers proposed organizing long-term Lockton community service efforts to rebuild homes and infrastructure in the spring. Following these natural disasters, Lockton Associates have set an example of resilience and dedication to those in need, embodying the Lockton value of “We Live Service.” Through efforts in donations, volunteering, and spreading the word, Lockton has made a significant difference.

Lockton Pledges $1 M...
Lockton has pledged $1 million to support the Spencer Educational Foundation. The contribution, which will advance the Foundation’s mission of supporting the next generation of risk management and insurance professionals, was announced at the Foundation’s annual Funding Their Future Gala, which generated more than $1.9 million, a new high-water mark. Underscoring the firm’s commitment to talent development, Lockton U.S. President Tim Ryan said the contribution will further bolster the Foundation’s ability to provide scholarships, internships, and experiential learning grants. Ryan was the honoree at the Gala, which was held Sept. 18 in New York. “For decades, Spencer has played a critical role in preparing students for meaningful careers in our industry,” said Ryan. “Speaking with several Spencer Scholars was the highlight of the night. Some are the first in their families to attend college. Some are working multiple jobs to pay for school. Their determination is inspiring, and it reminds us that our role isn’t just about financial support—it’s about showing up with our time, our mentoring, and real-world experiences that set students up for success. This is a shared responsibility, and Lockton is proud to invest in the future of our profession by supporting the Foundation’s mission.” Ryan also highlighted the industry’s ongoing need to attract and develop talent with a wide range of skills. “Insurance offers a broad and rewarding set of career paths,” he said. “The more we can arm students with experience, access, and support early in their careers, the stronger our industry will be in the years to come.” Lockton has a long-standing partnership with Spencer. In 2004, following the passing of Lockton’s founder, the firm established the John T. Lockton Memorial Scholarship to honor his legacy and create opportunities for students entering the field of insurance. Since then, Lockton has contributed nearly $1 million in scholarships, along with mentoring and programming support. “The results of this year’s Gala demonstrate the industry’s unwavering dedication to cultivate future talent,” said Johnell Holly, SVP at FM and Chair of the Spencer Board of Directors. “Lockton’s generous contribution on top of our Gala fundraising result amplifies the impact of these efforts and enables Spencer to expand its programming to meet the increasing needs of students and educators and to promote careers in insurance.” Close to 600 senior insurance executives attended the Funding Their Future Gala to celebrate Spencer’s mission and invest in the talent pipeline critical to the industry’s long-term success. With 87 cents of every dollar spent on programs that advance the mission, Spencer proudly focuses all efforts on the development of insurance industry talent.
