Your Responsibilities
Position Overview:
A Strategic Casualty Risk Control Consultant is responsible for leading and coaching clients in identifying, assessing, and developing strategies to mitigate risks that could impact an organization’s ability to achieve its strategic financial objectives (“Lockton Lives Service”). This role involves collaborating closely with internal professionals, insurance carrier teams, client senior management and other key stakeholders to align risk management with the organization's overall strategic plan, ensuring resilience against potential claim losses and uncertainties.
Key Responsibilities:
· Risk Assessment and Analysis:
- Ability to Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential strategic risks that could impact the organization's objectives.
- Analyze both internal and external factors that could pose risks, including market trends, competitive dynamics, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.
- Strong analytical abilities to understand loss trends and communicate findings with clients.
· Strategy Development:
- Based on loss trends, develop, and recommend risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts on strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with leadership to integrate risk management strategies into the broader strategic planning process.
· Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate closely with various client departments, internal teams, and vendor partners to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to risk control excellence across the client organization.
- Facilitate risk management calls, meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance risk awareness and culture within the organization.
· Regulatory Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure all risk control practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Working knowledge or ease of obtaining regulations to include ANSI, NFPA, DOT, OSHA 1910, and OSHA 1926 regulations/standards.
- Maintain working knowledge of regulatory changes/updates and communicate these both internally and with clients.
· Continuous Improvement:
- Remain current and updated on industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices in risk control through continuing education and safety articles/research.
- Continuously review and enhance risk control processes to improve effectiveness and efficiency in aiding clients in loss reductions.
· Effective Communications:
- Communicates with insurance carriers including recommendations, inclusion in risk control strategies, and acting a liaison between carrier and clients.
- Effectively communicates both in writing and face to face with internal client service teams, respecting them as leaders of the client relationship.
- Develop and maintain strong communications with vendor partners who add value within our strategic planning for clients to solve problems.
- Possess the strong ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of stakeholders including representatives of a client C-Suite, Senior Leadership, front line supervisors and associates.
- Develop industry, and exposure based whitepapers for distribution to clients and internal associates
- Coordinate with Risk Control Services Leadership to develop training to support internal associates and clients.
Qualifications
- 10+ Years of experience in safety, safety consultation, or risk control.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Risk Management
- Professional (CRMP), or similar is an advantage.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing risk control strategies in a corporate environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with a proven track-record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to travel by car or aircraft to meet client service needs. (potential 50% travel)
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
- Legally able to work in the United States.
