Position Overview
Lockton's Northeast Series seeks an Associate Risk Manager to join our Private Equity Real Estate (PERE) team. This Risk Management team is dedicated to one of our largest clients (Insourced Risk Management). The Associate Risk Manager will be responsible for supporting Senior Risk Managers and Account Executives in servicing and managing a growing client book of business; the position involves supporting the client’s real estate due diligence efforts. The ideal candidate should possess 2-7 years of pertinent experience in the insurance industry. This position necessitates working from a Lockton Northeast Office.
Depending on the candidate's years of relevant industry experience, they will be enrolled in Lockton’s Career Foundations Program or Career Advancement Program. These programs are crafted to offer the technical and practical training required to foster the growth of Associates, supporting their journey towards a prosperous and enduring career within Lockton's Northeast Series.
Core Responsibilities
- Responsible for all new operational deal due diligence by requesting pricing indications and quotes for operational insurance and the preparation of coverage summaries and comparison charts.
- Track and report on weekly acquisition, transition and disposition activity, including supporting on quarterly adjustments for master insurance programs.
- Support senior risk managers with renewal strategies and procurement for master insurance program renewals, to include process design and implementation to create efficiencies for the broader team.
- Manage the risk management team’s Statement of Values (SOV) with up-to-date information on project values, insurance placement, and transition and binding dates.
- Manage the client’s certificate tracking vendor, which includes set-up of new assets and liaising between the vendor, partner, and client. This will include tracking JV partners’ insurance expirations.
- Support data management analytics through use of Microsoft Excel and other data platforms as appropriate.
- Coordinate responses to teams and partners, communicating turnaround times effectively.
- Organize and maintain files using shared drives for efficient file coordination.
- Support overall risk management team goals and initiatives.
- Conduct thorough reviews of quotes, binders, and endorsements to ensure accuracy and completeness. Additionally, compile exposure information for both new business and existing (renewal) opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Technical Services Team to issue and process certificates of insurance, invoices, and compliance-related documents.
- Address accounting issues promptly when they arise.
A successful candidate will have:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing
- An ability to manage time, prioritize and ensure that deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- An entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to continually expand knowledge of the insurance industry and all associated insurance lines and grow within the company.
Qualifications
- A preference for a bachelor’s degree in risk management and insurance, or a related business program, or equivalent experience is required.
- Preferably 2-7 years’ experience in Property and Casualty insurance (broker, retail, wholesale, underwriting, or claims) or Real Estate (multi-family, industrial, self-storage)..
- Demonstrated ability to effectively organize tasks and manage time to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook and Excel).
- Flexibility and willingness to work outside of regular business hours and travel as necessary.
- Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures, actively safeguarding the confidentiality of client and company information.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship for this position, now or in the future.
